Jenni Rivera also known as " La Diva de la Banda" she was raised and born in Long Beach, CA born from Mexican parents. She grew up speaking English and Spanish fluently that is why she is often confused with been born in Mexico. Her father, Pedro Rivera, and her brothers both played Mexican music, focusing on banda/corrido, norteƱo and ranchero--and they did a lot to encourage her interest in music.
As a young adult she had love for the music but she never went into the business, she rather focus on becoming a real estate agent with a degree in business, which she did make a carrer in the real estate industry. In the year 1995 she finally released her first record called " Chacalosa". During this period of time she recordered a few more records with Capitol/ EMI. In the year 1999 she recorder " Las Malondrinas" which it was a total hit under Fonovisa. In this year that's when she was most recognized, and she earned her title of Diva de la Banda.
Although as a professional she is been a great achiever, in her personal life she has not had too much luck. She has been marriade 3 times and has 4 children.
She is considered a very strong and powerful figure in the Mexican banda Music industry. According to her her real true real models have been her brother Lupillo Rivera and her father Pedro Rivera.
Her most recent hits have been a tribute to Chayito Valdez and Rocio Durcal the record was name " A las Grandes" to the Big Ones. |
