Santos with just in need of a tie in its second-leg game , after defeating Cruz Azul 2-1 on Thursday. Gets it on Sunday with a 1-1 score to win the 2008 Mexican Clausura 3-2. Making this their third title in the teams history.

It wouldn't come easy though, as Cruz Azul came into the game determined to tie the overall marker. But despite Cruz Azul's aggressiveness , the first goal came early in the game from the Santos. Daniel Luduena (Argentinian) scored in the 17th minute. Cruz Azul would tie it with a Goal from Jaime Lozano after converting on a cross from Gerardo Torrado on the 83rd minute. With not much time left, Cruz Azul would try to surprise the home team by turning things around on the overall scoreboard. But Pablo Zeballos would miss in two oppurtunitys with loose shots.
